'77 Buick LeSabre

Our first new car was a gold 77 Buick LeSabre purchased in November of 1976 with a GM discount for $5470, shortly after my Dad died. I flew back from Phoenix, Arizona on the red eye flight to pick the Buick up before Thanksgiving.

The Buick had a (Pontiac developed) 301 V8, automatic transmission, very cold air conditioning (finally) and chrome wheels. The only sportiness (besides the chrome wheels) was that it was a 2 door.

When I received the car it had a LeSabre emblem on one quarter panel and Electra 225 emblem on the other side. I mistakenly had them put a LeSabre emblem on both sides.

We kept this car less than a year, selling it to couple we had met in the Milford Apartments for $5600 in October of 1977 with 14,000 miles on the odometer. We were applying for a house loan and needed to reduce our debt. To provide transportation we purchased a very used 67 Camaro RS.
